The mission of a Kings Cross Speakers is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

ABOUT TOASTMASTERS

Toastmasters International came into being more than 90 years ago in the US mid-West, ravaged by the Great Depression. The original mission was to help young people find their voice and rebuild their confidence. We have come a long way since then and while that original mission is still close to our heart our program has now blossomed into a powerful, cost effective leadership development curriculum. Hence our updated motto – “Where Leaders are Made”. Toastmasters International came to the UK comparatively recently but there are now hundreds of clubs nationwide and over 70 in London alone. There are corporate clubs, clubs where various languages are used, specialty clubs such as the new Debating club and community clubs like ours.
