Mentoring

Toastmasters’ educational philosophy could be summed up as action learning with peer-to-peer support.

Every time we make a speech or undertake one of the meeting roles a fellow member is there to observe, give feedback and evaluate our efforts.

We go further in Kings Cross Speakers and everyone who joins the club has a mentor who spends time with the member between meetings understanding the member’s objectives and supporting the member in preparing a speech or role, and then giving one-to-one feedback later.

We are all on a learning journey and the new member too will be encouraged to become a mentor as soon as confidence allows. This is the essence of the friendly and supportive environment that we enjoy in Toastmasters.
